REdefine // "Three Lives, Three Wishes — The Centenary Auntie's House of Nam Chung"

Wun Ching Tong (蘊貞堂), built in 1908, is located in a Hakka village in Nam Chung, near the Hong Kong-Shenzhen border. Originally known as the “Auntie’s House”, it served as a space for unmarried women in the village to live independently.

By the 1980s, the house had fallen into decline as the aunties aged,  but a British couple, passionate about the history and culture of the New Territories, established a local museum to preserve the legacy of these ladies. Nowadays, a group of youngster dedicated to living self-determined lives have made Wun Ching Tong their home, breathing new life into space and writing a fresh chapter in its history.
