REvitalise // So Lo Pun is not a legend

So Lo Pun is a 300-year-old mysterious and abandoned rural village located near the border with mainland China. Long shrouded in intrigue, it has been dubbed a “haunted” village, with rumors circulating that compasses stop working upon entering and that some villagers mysteriously vanished overnight. In the 1950s, the village was home to around 300 residents, but over time, many moved to the city or emigrated to the U.K., and by the 1980s, the village was completely deserted. In 2007, an elderly villager returned from the U.K. with the intention of restoring the village, bringing back the rural landscape they remember. Sixteen years have passed, yet it seems there is still a long road ahead.
